OK, so Barking Dog is kind of a strange name for a marketing communications firm. Here’s the story.

In 1995, having worked for a couple of major agencies, Gordon Barker decided to open his own marketing communications company. He could have taken the traditional approach and called it Barker Communications, but in a coffee fueled creative binge, Gordon’s sense of humor won out and Barking Dog was born along with our tagline: Why use the other mutts when you can have a pedigree?

That pretty much sums up what we’re all about – creativity, not doing the expected and not taking ourselves too seriously.
